Decent detectors but definitely room for improvement in many areas. Detectors arrived quickly and were packaged nicely. Setup and installation was pretty straight forward with a caveat (read below). I like that they are combo detectors and have a voice alert option with location. A few things to note for others:1. The mounting plate which is attached to your electrical both is very shallow and the holes in the plate are built for the tiny flat head drywall mounting screws included with the detectors. I am replacing existing detectors and my house has dedicated electrical boxes already and the screws I have always used are standard #8 round head machine screws. The plate is so shallow that you cannot attach the detector to its mounting plate with the round head screws and the screw slots built into the plate are too small for the screw head. I had to go to the hardware store and separately purchase flat head #8 screws. These still didn't fit in the screw slots in the mounting plate but were low enough to allow the detector to attach to the mounting plate. The screw slots for attaching the box should either accommodate a standard round head screw and/or the detectors should come with appropriate flat head screws that fit into screw slots that allow mounting to a standard electrical box.2. As others have mentioned, the green status led is very bright, I have these mounted outside of bedrooms (i.e. hall, entryway and basement) so time will tell if it will be an issue.3. I really wish that x-sense provided a hard-wired smart option that could connect to their hub and/or their app and that the led light color and intensity could be adjustable. I am replacing a set of smart combo detectors from another company bought both the hard wired and a set of battery operated to provide proper coverage. The lack of integration of their hard wired offerings to their app is a huge gap and opportunity.

Great product but may be tricky to install - Read review.. I purchased ten of these for my house because I wasted my money on First Alert and Kidde detectors that went off randomly. What I love about these units is you can set a location for each detector so you know the area to go check when the alarm is activated instead of hearing a house full of alarms with no way to know where the triggered alarm is.Now about installation. The detectors are square in shape and can be tricky to install depending on how well the contractors installed the wiring and wire housing/receptacle. The wiring harness is standard black/hot red/interconnect white/neutral. The install mount is round and designed to fit and work in a standard round housing/receptacle which is great if the housing was installed flush to ceiling as they should be. If you have square or rectangle wire box look elsewhere. What gets difficult is if you previous installers or contractor made sloppy and shoddy holes in the ceiling or were not consistent with depth of housing then it takes extra work to install these. In my house I had four receptacle/housings that were simple to install the detector because they were near flush with the ceiling and took 15 minutes each. The other six required me to add spacers and/or washers between the receptacle screw holes and the plate to get it level because the builder did crappy work when the house was built and the housing/receptacle is not flush to ceiling. This is a contractor issue not the detector manufacturer but it would be nice if X-Sense would provide an optional square plate to make install easier when you don’t have a perfect setup which is usually always.One of the round housings in my home had an over sized hole that the builder hid with the standard Kidde or First Alert mount that covers the hole. You can see in one picture the hole was cut too big or the housing was not centered so I have to fix that gap but that is not the manufacturers fault. It took me 3 hours to install 9 of these because of inconsistent depth of the round housing or oversized holes. Despite the skeletons, I found in my house from the builder, I love the detectors and definitely recommend them as long as you can expect some tinkering if your receptacle/housing was not installed consistently or well.

Best price on wonderful product. I had to replace 9 of smoke detector all at once and i was looking in lowe's, home depot and ace. Those places had ridiculous price on that product. Thanks to amazon delivering that overnight and saved big chunk of my money

Great service help. When I went to install, I had a small issue. I called them, they answered the phone and got it corrected right away! Would definitely recommend!
