It seems like a good quality alarm, but not easy to put straight on a wall!. The fixing holes for the base are 10.5 cm apart, which is well and good, but if they are drilled in a horizontal or vertical line, the alarm itself - which is put into the base with a push and a twist, like a light bulb - can only be set at one of three weird angles to the horizontal or vertical. If you prefer to have the alarm face in a vertical line, with the button at the bottom, put aside an hour or two to puzzle it out. I make it about north-west by north. Anyway, if it's a good 'un otherwise, I shan't have to do this for another ten years.

Must have for peace of mind and protection.. Easy to install, all these devices should have 10 year batteries built in so you cannot remove them. The number of families that have lost loved ones to fire or gas leaks because they removed the batteries because the device was too sensitive. This removes that option and could save lives.
